Junior Division
(Age 5 through Grade 3)
Camellot offers children an introduction to the fine arts. Dance, art, drama,
vocal music and beginning performance skills are presented in a fun-filled,
relaxed classroom atmosphere. Junior Division campers will perform in
their own show during the third week of camp and with the Senior Division
campers in Peter Pan on July 11 & 12. Sack lunches are required
the sixth week of camp.
Senior Division
(Grades 4 through 9)
The morning is divided into five periods with a 10-minute break in the
middle. Sack lunches are required for senior division campers auditioning
for their play on Tuesday, June 10, senior division campers who are cast
in a lead role in their play, and the sixth week of camp. Seniors campers
may enroll in the following electives:
ART
Includes painting,
drawing, sculpture and other craft projects which are displayed weekly.
DRAMA
Classes include improvisation, auditioning and performance skills plus
the opportunity to perform in weekly Showcases.
DANCE
Campers have the opportunity to explore various dance forms and to perform
in Showcases.
GUITAR
Classes for beginning, intermediate and advanced students will be available.
VOCAL MUSIC
The Camellot chorus will rehearse daily and perform at weekly Showcases.
All campers participate in the Camellot chorus and voice classes are offered to campers who like to sing.
The entire Senior
Division will participate in the production of a major musical comedy Peter Pan on July 11 & 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Rose Theater, Rockhurst High School.
Optional
Afternoon Activities
Afternoons at Camellot offer a more in-depth fine arts experience including
performance oriented dance, art projects and special guest artists. Campers
also participate in a community service project geared toward helping children less fortunate. Sack lunches are required
for afternoon campers.
